Certain middle aged beauties find it hard to conquer a place in society. Unaware of the futile battle against the looks of women decades younger, they gradually develop a parody image of their lost youth. Too intelligent, too independent, too demanding, too discerning, too self-absorbed and too needy makes them unattractive to men and friends… who cannot but wonder how all this will end?
A little girl in Hong Kong loves a dragon so I painted her one she named it “TOM”
The Maltese beauty is found within the mixture of centuries of wars and colonization. Her curved features and traits are a blend of ancient Egypt, Turkey and more recent French and English. Devoutly catholic, her culture retains the highest values and philosophies of both Arabian and Christian. Without a doubt her family comes first and foremost. On the surface she stands behind her husband but fundamentally she is the core member of the family and she knows it. She loves and takes great pride in her multiple roles as wife, mother and daughter. This power makes her feel and look both sensual and irresistible. The cigarette depicts her independence and power. Maltese women have amazing hair and her weekly trip to the salon is her way of saying I love being a woman in today’s men’s world!

Opposites attract and therefore can only exist because they are opposites. If we remove one, the other looses it’s significance. Can we face the dark side of our Goodness? Dare we to acknowledge the hypocrisy? Only then can the Good we do stand alone and become significant.
Every year Hong Kong turns into a French cultural mega center during Le French May. Selected artists get to showcase their work in unconventional spaces. It was SO SO SO wicked to see my paintings covering the front of the one and only Alan Zeman California Tower in the party center of Lan Kwai Fong. We exhibited in Alan’s penthouse office which is probably the coolest office on the planet. Thank you once again Hong Kong for welcoming me onto your art scene !
With the iconic Alan Zeman who MADE Hong Kong’s night life !
To see one of my paintings hanging behind the desk of this celebrity billionaire and ueber famous Hong Kong entrepreneur is probably the most rewarding part in my artist career. Stephen Hung is renowned for his flamboyant and trendsetting style. We had it framed in his signature baroque style floater frame which works incredibly well with contemporary art. Most galleries would not dare to use such a contrasting frame. So proud to be in this office where success in business are part of the top of the world !
How art shows can make a difference. Months of preparation and monastic studio work on display. The best time in an artist life is to experience when the paintings comes out of the studio and into the limelight and buzz of an exhibition. Here at the Hong Kong art fair. The gallery sold 8 in one day ! Talking to Asian art lovers is the most refreshing experience. No fancy art talk here. I pretended not to be the artist to get a sincere review. It’s just fantastic to hear how they perceive a painting. The best feeling ever. Thank you for welcoming me Hong Kong and China !

Private commission for a pet cat painting. We all love our pets. The best way to immortalize them is to have them painted. Each pet has their unique character and painting brings those traits alive. In this painting Theo is shown during a summer late afternoon, twilight, his favorite time of the day when birds, lizards, butterflies and bees congregate in his garden to settle for the night. A hunters paradise. Private commission for a pet cat painting in acrylics on canvas, pet love, Fox Daniels Art, contemporary art with colour and attitude.
